    What began as a thunderstorm on Friday evening ended in the most significant blizzard so far this season, bringing travel to a standstill, canceling events and cutting power in some places across the area. The fall event that has attracted locals and visitors alike to sample craft beers on Main Street since 2014 has been dropped by the Sundance Chamber of Commerce. “The board voted to cancel Beer Festival from now on due to lack of leadership and interest from businesses that would benefit from the event,” comments Jamie Jessen, Chamber of Commerce.     For those interested in standing for election this year, whether for local, county or state positions, the filing window is about to open. For a two-week period, citizens will be invited to put forth their names for seats ranging from U.S. Congress to city council. Filing opens on May 12 and will close on May 27 for most county, state and federal seats.
