    The Sundance Bulldogs Boys qualified four of five wrestlers at Tongue River High School at this past weekend’s regional tournament. Freshman Lyman Halverson led the team with a 2-2 fourth place finish. Others who qualified were Freshman Tel Marchant 2-2 at 113 lbs., Senior Karter Mayberry 2-2 at 126 lbs. and Wyatt Flahaven 0-2 at 144 lbs.     The extremely short-handed Bulldog grapplers battled in the Powder River conference duals this past Thursday. The Bulldogs were limited to three eligible wrestlers as sickness and injuries hit the team hard this past week. Competing were Kole Van Horn 1-2, Karter Mayberry 1-2, and Cameron Fouch 1-4.     This past weekend the Sundance High School Wrestling Team participated in the 22 team Hill City Invitational. Pacing the Bulldogs as he has done all season was senior Karter Mayberry. Mayberry placed fourth going 3-2 on the day.     This past weekend, the Bulldog wrestling team participated in the 22-team Belle Fourche Invitational. This tournament brings in most of the teams in Western South Dakota and Eastern Wyoming.     The 2022-23 Bulldog wrestling season came to an end this past weekend in Casper. For the girls, Savannah Peterson became Sundance's first female state participant and first girl to win a match at the state tournament. She finished 1-2 on the weekend, defeating a girl from Campbell County before bowing out in the 3rd round of consolations.     The Sundance Bulldog wrestling team competed this past Thursday at the Powder River Conference meet held in Moorcroft. The short-handed Bulldogs were led by Junior Jacob Comer who placed first at Hwt. The shorthanded Bulldog team competed this past Tuesday with only five healthy wrestlers but returned with an overall 8-4 record.     The Sundance wrestlers hosted the Sundance Quad last week. Going up against wrestlers from Campbell County, Thunder Basin, Belle Fourche and Hulett, the Bulldog grapplers fared well.     The 2022-23 Sundance Bulldog wrestling season began this past Friday in Lusk for the Tiger Invitational. As a team, the Bulldogs finished eighth out of the 15 teams.     The Sundance Bulldog wrestling team finished its 2021-22 season this past weekend in Casper at the State Tournament. The Bulldog wrestlers captured two medals as Dawson Flahaven (285 lbs.) finished in fifth place and Andrew Davis (132 lbs.) finished in sixth place.
