Bulldog wrestlers take on Newcastle

The Bulldog wrestling team started the second half of their season by participating in the 16-team Newcastle Invitational this past Friday. Leading the way for the Bulldogs were Jayden Keller with a second-place finish at 126 lbs and Karter Mayberry with a third-place finish also at 126 lbs.

Other records on the day were 2-2 records for both Gavin Mollenbrink at 182 lbs. and Jacob Comer at 220 lbs. Finishing at 1-2 were 106-pounder Zac Duvall and 170-pounder Savannah Peterson. Liam Holt 160 lbs. and Clay Robinson both finished 0-2 on the day.

The wrestling team has four members out with injuries but hopefully all of them will return to action in the next two weeks.

This week’s action includes a Tuesday quad at home vs. Campbell County High School, Thunder Basin High School and Belle Fourche. This upcoming Saturday the grapplers head to Lingle to participate in the 14-team Lingle Invitational.
