Lady Bulldogs headed to Regionals

The Sundance volleyball team closed out their regular season hosting the number one ranked, Big Horn Rams last Friday night. Excitement was in the air as the Bulldogs took the first set from the Rams in a 20-25 victory.

The Rams, however, quickly took the next two sets from the Bulldogs with a 25-13 and 25-8 defeat.

"We struggled to find kills so it was hard to keep up with their power and tough serves," head coach Chelsey Blasczyk stated.

The Bulldogs did regroup for set number four, keeping the score close and making the Rams sweat a little. Ultimately, it was Big Horn who emerged victorious taking a 3-1 overall victory.

"We took a set from Big Horn to start and it was so fun. It was a great game to prepare us for regionals this weekend," Blasczyk commented.

The Lady Bulldogs will begin postseason play on Friday this week as they travel to Wright for the 2A Regional Tournament. Two wins in the Regional Tournament will qualify the team for state; likewise, two losses in the tournament and the team's season will come to an end in Wright.

Sundance will go into the tournament as the number four seed from the northeast and will face the number one seed from the southeast, Burns, at 4:30 p.m. The Bulldogs' game will be played at the Wright High School. Winner of Sundance and Burns will move on to face the winner of Wright and Lingle-Ft. Laramie at 7:30 p.m. Friday night.
