The Sundance track team was on the road to Buffalo last week as they competed in the Jerry Campbell Invitational on Friday. It was a great meet for the Bulldog track and field team as multiple athletes placed in the top seven of their events.
Senior Keaton Mills was a dual event winner for his second straight week, taking top honors in the high jump and discus. Ryder Downey came in 2nd in the 400 meter with a time of 54.59.
In the field events, Parker Skeens also found himself a second place finish in the triple jump, going 39-10.
On the girls' side, the Bulldogs runners dominated the 800 meter race with Hayln Cooney taking the top spot with a time of 2:47.86. Teammates Rylie Marchant (3rd), Aubrey Wheeler (5th), Taylor Dailey (6th), and Arianna Neiman (7th) helped to round out the race placing in the top seven for the Bulldogs.
As a team, the Lady Bulldogs finished 3rd in the meet, racking up 61 points for the day.
The Sundance track and field team will take on a multitude of schools next week as they compete in the Queen City Invitational, in Spearfish, on Friday.
