Strong start to golf season

The summer is coming to an end and the high school fall sports seasons have begun. The Sundance golf team teed off their fall season in Sheridan and Newcastle this past week, participating in the Kendrick and Upton Invites.

Savanah Peterson started the season strong for the Lady Bulldogs, taking the top spot at both invites on the girls' side. Peterson won the Upton invite at Newcastle by 13 strokes, with a score of 97.

She also took the top honors in Sheridan shooting a 98 for the course. As a team, the Lady Bulldogs finished in first place at the Upton Invite.

On the boys' side, the Watt brothers led the Bulldogs in Sheridan. Freshmen Porter Watt put up a 105, followed closely by his brother Owen, who shot a 106 for the day.

At the Upton Invite in Newcastle it was Spencer Lubken and Owen Watt placing in the top ten for the Bulldogs, taking eighth and ninth place respectively. Teammates Porter Watt, Kole VanHorn, Haldon Harmon and Corbin Crowder also helped the Bulldog boys to a third-place team finish at the Upton Invite.

The Bulldog golfers have a busy week as they hit the greens with a full schedule this week. The golfers will tee off at Devils Tower on Tuesday, host the Sundance Invite on Friday and take on the Wee Links on Saturday.
