Busy week for golf

It was a busy week for the Sundance golfers as they competed at Devils Tower, Wright and Lusk. The Sundance girls' golf team placed first at the Wright and Lusk Invitationals.

With an overall team score of 277 in Wright, the Sundance Lady Bulldogs broke the school record by three strokes. Four Lady Bulldogs were in the top ten of scoring as they made their way through the course on Friday; Sheridan Schubarth and Savanah Peterson tied for first place with a score of 85, Avery Marchant finished in fifth with a score of 107 and Karen Ulmer rounded out the top ten with a score of 127. Marchant, Peterson and Gracie Davis also PR'd with their overall scores. 

The Bulldog boys placed second as a team in Wright. Owen Watt held the lowest score for the Bulldogs with a 91 for the day.

"The golfers are playing great going into the last week of the season, several hit their personal best on the course in Wright, let's hope the weather holds," coach Lisa Dutton stated.

Corbin Crowder, Haldon Harmon, Owen Watt, and Jeron Hege also hit their personal bests while competing in Wright.

On Saturday the teams traveled to Lusk and once again the Bulldog teams finished in the top two spots. The boys team finished in second, just shy of the Tongue River Eagles who took first place. The Bulldogs had three golfers break the top ten with Owen Watt placing second (96), Spencer Lubken sixth (106) and Halden Harmon finishing in eighth (112). 

The Lady Bulldogs continued their winning ways on Saturday in Lusk, taking first place as a team and finishing three of their four golfers in the top 10. Schubarth and Peterson finished the course in first and second place. While teammates Karen Ulmer and Gracie Davis took a seventh and 12th place finish respectively. 

The Sundance golf teams will compete in Worland on Thursday and Friday this week.
