Shop small – with a glass of wine

The businesses of Sundance have benefited from the Shop Small concept for the last few years, setting a date at the end of each November during which the downtown area will be packed with locally produced goods and shoppers clasping punch cards or glasses of wine. Get your Christmas shopping done early while supporting your town’s economy this weekend with two opportunities to celebrate local business.

The first of the two traditions is Small Business Saturday, introduced through the Sundance Main Street Committee in 2016 and part of the Shop Small® promotion. It aims to spread awareness of why shopping locally is so important to a community.

Now promoted through the Sundance Chamber of Commerce, on November 30, shoppers can once again take part in the $250 Punch Card Raffle. Qualifying purchases from Sundance’s local businesses of at least $5 will net you a punch for your card.

Complete a punch card by making $50 in total purchases and turn it in to any participating retailer or Sundance State Bank by December 6. The drawing for $250 in Sundance Bucks will take place on December 13 during the Holiday Hoopla Raffle Drawing (you need not be present to win).

When customers spend where they live, it helps communities get stronger, main streets stay vibrant and the economy to thrive. To spread both awareness and some extra holiday cheer, the Sundance Chamber of Commerce invites you to grab your wallet and head downtown this Saturday.

On the evening of November 6, the ladies of Sundance are invited to grab their girlfriends and head downtown for another chance to spoil yourself or pick up some unique Christmas gifts. Seven local businesses will be hosting the Ladies Night Block Party, once again promoted via the Sundance Chamber of Commerce.

During the evening, you will be able to peruse locally crafted goods starting at Off the Grid Hardware and Sports. Continue from there to Longhorn Saloon & Grill, Wild West Espresso, Vilas Pharmacy, Serendipity Floral and Gifts, Tracy Motor Company and the Bearlodge Bakery.

An estimated 27 vendors will be spread throughout these businesses. Check out their goods and gather a few more punches for your Small Business Saturday punch cards.

Tickets for the event are available at Off the Grid Hardware & Sports; purchase ahead of time to receive a discount on your entry price. The ticket will include your wine glass, gift bag, wine (or non-alcoholic beverage) and hors d’oeuvres.
