Voters at this year’s general election ballot will be asked to consider two constitutional matters, one allowing counties and cities to invest in equities and the other to increase the retirement age of Supreme Court justices. A draft of the proposed new rules for large acreage subdivisions has been made available ahead of a public hearing with the Crook County Land Use Planning and Zoning Commission. The students of Sundance High School took part in a clean-up day last week, organized in conjunction with the City of Sundance to make sure the streets are spick and span for summer. Says Clerk-Treasurer Kathy Lenz, the kids gathered an impressive four pick-up loads of trash in just two hours. The city offered a prize to the class that picked up the most litter. Beloved grandmother, wonderful mother, dear sister and friend to many, Diane Marie Huven, 74 of Moorcroft, Wyoming, passed from this life into eternity on May 17, 2022. Those she left behind will miss her so very much. Yet in our sorrow, we find joy in God’s promises. Diane was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 5, 1947 and as a little girl moved to Monico, Wisconsin. Wacey George Snook, age 35, was born to Melvin and Deborah Snook on January 29, 1987. Wace was the youngest of four kids, having three older sisters to pick on (Ivy Burks of Mississippi, Kate (Blake) Conner of Isabel, South Dakota and Kara (Morgan) Uhrig of Gillette, Wyoming). His nieces and nephews include Craig and Lexi Burks, Kade and Curtis Conner and Brooklyn Uhrig. He is survived by his grandmothers Shirley Anderson and Char Carter. As we transition into summer, Crook County is starting to see a little more badly needed moisture than it has for many months. In fact, this county experienced the fourteenth wettest April on record, with 1.24 extra inches of precipitation. The year as a whole has been slightly wetter than average – an estimated 0.08 inches above normal.
