Rumors spread last week that coronavirus had been diagnosed in Wyoming. Crook County Public Health reassures the public that this information was incorrect and there is currently no danger of contracting the virus in this state. “We have no diagnosed or suspected cases of coronavirus in the State of Wyoming, or in any of the adjoining states around Wyoming, at this time,” says Becky Tinsley, Crook County Public Health. “It’s not an immediate threat here. During the month of January, the pantry served 153 people. This included six new clients, 53 under the age of 18 and 44 over the age of 60. Items needed this month include peanut butter, beef and/or chicken ramen and soup. These items may be dropped off in donation boxes at the Crook County Library at 414 E Main St, in the lobby of the school district’s Central Administration Offices at 122 Hwy 585 and at Decker’s Market in Sundance. Vernie Mae Nussbaum, 90, Sundance, Wyoming, died peacefully on Sunday the 26th of January at Weston County Manor in Newcastle, Wyoming. Vernie was born July 28, 1929, at the ranch at Inyan Kara Mountain, in the house where she spent most of her adult life, to Thomas J. Ryan and Elaine M. (Hanes) Ryan. Vernie spent her early childhood in Tinton, Central City and Spearfish, South Dakota. Long time Crook County resident, Fern Grubb, age 95 passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 at the Crook County Long Term Care Facility in Sundance, Wyoming. Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 10 at 1 p.m. at the Greater Hulett Community Center in Hulett, Wyoming, with private family graveside services following the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #80 of Hulett has been established in Fern’s name. Ken Dockweiler of Bridger Pipelines updated the county commissioners Tuesday morning on progress made within the county to install a new oil pipeline that will match the route of the existing Butte Pipeline line in this area. Several trainings to obtain or renew private pesticide applicator licenses are being offered across northeast Wyoming in February and March by the University of Wyoming Extension. SHERIDAN — The case against Gregg Lambdin, who was convicted of 11 counts of wanton destruction of a big game animal in October, concluded in 4th Judicial Court Jan. 30 when Lambdin’s firearms were forfeited to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
