Fireworks get nod for July 4

Those hoping to celebrate the Independence Day holiday in style this year have now been officially granted approval to do so.

The Sundance City Council has passed a resolution to permit fireworks within the city limits throughout the holiday period this year.

However, the resolution cautions that the Sundance Fire Chief has the authority to deem that conditions are too dry for fireworks at any time.

If conditions remain favorable, fireworks will be allowed between Sunday, July 2 and Tuesday, July 4 between the hours of noon and 11 p.m.
