George Sewell, the hustling young Mason creek rancher and stockman, put one over on Sundance friends, we learned with delight of his marriage, the happy event taking place last Saturday, according to the report. The Times will search out more particulars later.

Charley Serasio closed his saloon in Sundance last Saturday afternoon, having sold his stock out clean and did not continue up to the last hour allowed under the old liquor law. The closing days of the business were said to be exceedingly rushing and doubtless much more liquor could have been disposed of.

Carl Blatt was brought into town from the ranch Tuesday suffering from a bullet wound in the calf of the leg. Several stitches were necessary to close the wound. He is now resting well and it is not thought that the wound will prove very serious, as the bone was not injured. According to word received here, Carl was passing though John Berger’s place on the Little Missouri on his way to the timber after a load of posts, when John suddenly stepped out from behind a small mound with a rifle and told Carl to throw up his hands. Before Carl could lay down the lines and obey, Berger begun shooting. Carl threw himself off the wagon and got behind his horses, but not until he had received the wound in the leg. Three or four shots were fired but only the one took effect. Carl was then allowed to return to the ranch from where he was brought to town by automobile. Berger was arrested Wednesday by the sheriff and taken to Sundance. The men had had words a few days before the shooting.

A one hundred foot tower on Sundance Mountain is the newest link in cellular phone service in the area. CommNet Cellular, Inc. has built the tower which is tied to another tower at Sheridan by underground fiber optics. Billy Combs, sales representative for CommNet, said that when a similar tower is completed at Buffalo in a couple of weeks, it will provide continuous service from Billings to Rapid City. Combs also said that in the five county area of Crook, Weston, Campbell, Johnson and Sheridan, all calls are to be local calls.
