Continuing the Crook County News Since 1884
Dear Editor,
During this time of thanks and giving, I have been reflecting on the blessings of our small community. I wanted to bring to light a beautiful partnership that recent took place here in Sundance.
The children from Kid Prints, Inc. went on two walking field trips that brought them to Crook County Medical Services District long term care unit. These experiences resulted in a safe place for the small children to practice their curiosity and brought invaluable, youthful joy to the elderly residents.
The first visit was short and sweet. The children loved the aviary and were surprised at all the “grandmas and grandpas” and that they had Legos ready to play with. All had a great time with everyone already counting down the days until their next play date.
The second reunion had the children racing through the doors to find their friends again, ready to play. No time was wasted as young and old got busy playing, dancing and reconnecting.
Plans were already in place for a third get-together and without explanation or opportunity for closure, these relationships came to a halt.
This has left me wondering, why can’t something so good, so pure and so simple, continue? If you are wondering the same, please reach out to Kid Prints, Inc. board members.
Respectfully submitted,
Jodie McClure, RN
