Sundance Kindergarteners give us their take on the best way to cook a turkey!
Ms. Garoutte’s class
Maddie – Before we cook the turkey, we need to cut it up and stuff it with flowers. Set the oven to nine degrees and cook it for five minutes. You’ll know the turkey is done when it is the morning. Serve the turkey with more flowers, some sugar and cucumbers!
Brooklynn – Before we cook the turkey, we need to cut it and stuff it with yummy filling. Set the oven to two degrees and cook it for dinner. You’ll know the turkey is done when it has been two minutes. Serve the turkey with baking powder, bacon and soda!
Ace – Before we cook the turkey, we need to stuff it with fluff. Set the oven to 20 degrees and cook it for Thanksgiving. You’ll know the turkey is done when the timer goes off. Serve the turkey with plates, food and drinks!
Brynlee – Before we cook the turkey, we need to wash your hands and stuff it with powder. Set the oven to 100 degrees and cook it for North Carolina. You’ll know the turkey is done when it’s the middle of the night. Serve the turkey with rainbow cake, cupcakes and a game!
Oaklyn – Before we cook the turkey, we need to play outside and stuff it with salt. Set the oven to four degrees and cook it for my family. You’ll know the turkey is done when it’s the daytime – at lunch. Serve the turkey with cupcakes, sunflower seeds and jerky!
Tyler – Before we cook the turkey, we need to put a pizza on it and stuff it with flour. Set the oven to 1000 degrees and cook it for 15 hours. You’ll know the turkey is done when the oven beeps. Serve the turkey with pepperoni, water and more flour!
McCrae – Before we cook the turkey, we need to get our gloves on and stuff it with a bone. Set the oven at five degrees and cook it for nine hours. You’ll know the turkey is done when it beeps. Serve the turkey with plates, mac n’ cheese and bread!
Charity – Before we cook the turkey, we need to buy it and stuff it with tomato. Set the oven at seven degrees and cook it for dinner. You’ll know the turkey is done when it’s tomorrow. Serve the turkey with cheesecake, popcorn and Cheetos!
Reed – Before we cook the turkey, we need to put on toppings and sauces and stuff it with bread. Set the oven at 1200 degrees and cook it for six hours. You’ll know the turkey is done when it beeps. Serve the turkey with pop, pizza and bagel bites!
Bryson – Before we cook the turkey, we need to get the fuzzy stuff out and stuff it with hard stuff and bones. Set the oven at 100 degrees and cook it for dinner. You’ll know the turkey is done when we put it on a cookie sheet. Serve the turkey with cake, ice cream and chocolate!
Mavin – Before we cook the turkey, we need to finish playing and stuff it with donuts. Set the oven at 30 degrees and cook it for 20 hours. You’ll know the turkey is done when we look at it. Serve the turkey with rhubarb, pizza, carrots!
Tate – Before we cook the turkey, we need to clean it with soap and stuff it with a blanket. Set the oven at a million degrees and cook it for Thanksgiving. You’ll know the turkey is done when it is 100. Serve the turkey with plates, silverware and cups!
Ms. Johnson’s class
Parker – We get our turkey from the forest, maybe? Sometimes from the store. The oven will need to be heated up to 100 degrees before we can cook it. We don’t need to stuff it with anything, because we will cook it for the entire day. I know the turkey is done when the alarm goes off in the oven. We like to serve our turkey with broccoli, mac and cheese and some carrots. I love sharing my Thanksgiving dinner with my mommy, daddy and little brother!
Ruby – We kill our turkey. Well, my dad hunts for it. The oven will need to heat up to ten degrees before we can cook it. We need to cook it for at least 20 minutes until we hear the “ding”. We served our turkey with salt, pepper, grapes and Oreos. I love sharing my Thanksgiving dinner with my entire family.
Halle – Before we can cook the turkey, we have to get all the bones out of it. We then preheat the oven to 70 degrees. It will need to cook for at least 70 hours. We will hear a “beep, beep” when it is done cooking. We serve our turkey with delicious cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes and ham. I love sharing my Thanksgiving dinner with my Nana, Papa (might be in Arizona) Aunt Trish and the rest of my family.
Edith – My dad shoots our turkey. He has a tag for a big one this year! We will need to heat the oven to 12 degrees. We will season the turkey before it goes into the oven. We cook it for about 4-5 minutes. I know it is done cooking when the thingy in it moves up. If it isn’t up, it still needs a few more minutes. We serve our turkey with Caesar salad, sweet potatoes and brownies. I enjoy sharing my Thanksgiving dinner with my Grandma, Papa, cousins and the rest of my family!
Charley – We get our turkey from a farm. We will need to preheat the oven to pretty hot in order to cook it. It should cook for at least 12 minutes. I know it is done when we use the poker thing. If it doesn’t wiggle any more, I know it is dead. We serve our turkey with potatoes, green beans and a special dessert. I enjoy sharing my Thanksgiving dinner with my Grandma, Grandpa and all sorts of people that I know!
Maddox – We get our turkey from Spearfish. It is in South Dakota. First, we preheat the oven to four degrees. We then stuff the turkey with hot dogs. It must cook for at least 20 minutes. I know it is ready when I hear the “ding”. I like to eat my turkey with ketchup, bacon and mustard. I love sharing my Thanksgiving dinner with my Nanny and other family.
Aspen – We get our turkey from the store. We need to cook it at a very hot temperature until it is done. We don’t cook it for very long, but I know it is done when I hear the oven beep. We serve our turkey with hot dogs. I enjoy sharing my Thanksgiving dinner with my Grandma, Grandpa and the rest of my family.
Kameron – We get our turkey from the store. We have to cook it in a very hot oven for about 100 hours or so. I know the turkey is done when I hear the buzz. We serve our turkey with mac and cheese and milk. I will enjoy my Thanksgiving dinner with Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Kevin, Uncle Kris, Kaitlyn, Kayley Mo, Karleigh Jo and Kandence.
Irelee – We shop for our turkey at the store. We will need to preheat the oven to 18 degrees. The turkey will need to cook for at least 23 minutes before we hear the beep that tells me it is done. We serve our turkey with fruit and ice cream. I will enjoy my Thanksgiving dinner with our neighbor, my mom, my brother and my dad!
Mila – We hunt for our turkey. Once we’ve gotten it, we will cook it in the oven at 50 degrees. We stuff it with some things and then let it cook for 50 hours. We know it will be done cooking when it has been an hour. We serve our turkey with mac and cheese and gummies. I love sharing my Thanksgiving dinner with my mom and dad!
Aure – We get our turkey from the store. We cook it at about 100 degrees for just over one minute. We will hear a beep when it is finished cooking. We eat our turkey with bread, mayonnaise and ketchup. I love sharing my Thanksgiving dinner with my entire family!
Jon – We usually get our turkey from a farm. We need to preheat the oven to about four-ish degrees. It will need to cook for about 1 hour before it is ready to eat. I will know it is done cooking when the oven beeps. We eat our turkey with stuffing and desserts. I love sharing my Thanksgiving dinner with my whole family!
Ms. Barber’s class
From the Kitchen of Chef Evie – First, preheat the oven to ten degrees. Before you cook the turkey, you will need to cut it. Stuff the turkey with fuzz. Cook the turkey for ten minutes. You will know the turkey is done when it rings. Serve the turkey with suckers, smarties and candy bracelets. Enjoy!
From the Kitchen of Chef Ada – First, preheat the oven to ten degrees. Before you cook the turkey, you will need to start the stove. Stuff the turkey with seasonings. Cook the turkey for three minutes. You will know the turkey is done when it beeps. Serve the turkey with mac and cheese, fruit and meat. Enjoy!
From the Kitchen of Chef Finn – First, preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Before you cook the turkey, you will need to get vegetables and boil cheese bunnies. Stuff the turkey with french fries. Cook the turkey for three minutes. You will know the turkey is done when it’s Monday. Serve the turkey with pizza, carrots and mac and cheese! Enjoy!
From the Kitchen of Chef Graeson – First, preheat the oven to 29 degrees. Before you cook the turkey, you will need to heat it up. Stuff the turkey with steak and bread. Cook the turkey for 28 minutes. You will know the turkey is done when the bell rings. Serve the turkey with salt and pepper, hamburger and blueberry waffles. Enjoy!
From the Kitchen of Chef Aspen – First, preheat the oven to three degrees. Before you cook the turkey, you will need to put salt on it. Stuff the turkey with salt. Cook the turkey for ten hours. You will know the turkey is done when it rings. Serve the turkey with a plate, salt and chicken. Enjoy!
From the Kitchen of Chef Raelynn – First, preheat the oven to 1000 degrees. Before you cook the turkey, you will need to add ingredients. Stuff the turkey with strawberries and lemons. Cook the turkey for 1000 hours. You will know the turkey is done when it rings. Serve the turkey with orange food, green food and red food. Enjoy!

You will know the turkey is done when it is hot. Serve the turkey with vegetables, fruit and pepperonis. Enjoy!
