Alive after a wholesome period of rest the Sundance Commercial Club met in special session Monday evening with a good attendance. The chief topic of the evening was the proposition of the club cooperating with the school board to finish up the gymnasium in the new sohool building. The district is without funds for this purpose, and the club members feel that it would be a great detriment to the high school to go without the gym until such a time as the money would be available. The club must borrow in order to carry out the plan, but this has been done before and there is no reason why the organization cannot carry the matter to a successful finish.

The Sundance team of boys played at Upton Friday night and won the game 10 to 9. From all reports, neighborhood rivalry is growing to the point where it overshadows the fine points of basketball and this is likely to kill interest in the game, as few care to see rough tactics after witnessing games like the Denver Tigers and Q. C. A. put up last year. The girls' team did not go to Upton on account of road conditions, the boys having to make the trip by team.

Gun happy hunters made life unsafe for Spearfish residents November 21, with the wholesale slaughter of does and fawns on the outskirts of the town. Large number of deer took refuge at the edge of Spearfish when the deep snows forced them from the mountains. The heavy shooting started at 8 o'clock Sunday morning with hunters firing at fawns and does almost at the back doorsteps of some of the unhappy citizens. People, who were afraid to step outside their home, put in frantic calls to the sheriff and game wardens for help. Spearfish inhabitants spent Monday lodging protests and posting "no hunting" signs over the mobbed area.

Sundance head wrestling coach Earl Gray sees a rugged season ahead for his Bulldogs and he said Tuesday the 1973-74 season all depends on how well the young Sundance wrestlers come through.
