Wyoming suffered another devastating flood and storm era last week when unusual rains caused high water at Sheridan, Casper, Pine Bluffs and other central state points. Briefly summarized, Sheridan was badly flooded Friday and many people were driven from their homes. Burlington train No. 30, Casper to Denver, plunged through a bridge at Lockett and thirty or more were drowned Thursday night. Near Smeed, seven miles from Pine Bluffs, a tornado struck a freight train and derailed 47 cars out of 67. R.O. Partlow reported the rainfall for 24 hours at 2.5 inches at the Sundance station, but no damage resulted here aside from a setback to harvesting.

County Commissioner Collins and J.L. Cook of the Mona Short Line drove over from Hulett Saturday and report very bad roads al the way. It was impossible for them to go to Alva as the Belle Fourche was too high to ford, so they made the trip this way.

Chairman John M. Thorn arrived Tuesday via horseback over the Bear Lodge and presided at the October session. John said that hardly any kind of a vehicle could make the overland trip from Hulett that day.
