Barbara Glick

Barbara "Dusty" Glick passed away in Sundance, Wyoming, on Sunday, August 6, 3023, with her daughters by her side. After many years of multiples illnesses, she succumbed to a short and courageous battle with leukemia.

Barbara was born on October 28, 1936, to Allan and Treva Burns at their home in Covington, Ohio. She was the oldest of five children.

Barbara grew up and attended school in Covington and spent time in their family home in Homestead, Florida.

Barbara met Warren Glick, the love of her life, after she and her friends stole his car (and clothes) while he was swimming with friends! She and Warren married on November 15, 1953, at her parents' house in Covington.

They lived in an apartment in her family's barn until Warren joined the US Air Force, living in various locations including Ohio, Illinois and Virginia. Barbara drove a school bus and was hostess at a high-end restaurant when they lived in Alexandria, Virginia.

In 1964, the US Air Force moved them to Sundance, which became their home for the rest of their lives. It was in Sundance that Warren nicknamed her "Dusty" and she was known by that name to many. They raised four children, Wayne, Susan, Connie and April.

In the early Sundance years, Barbara enjoyed bowling and square dancing with Warren and their military friends. She held several different jobs over the years including leasing and managing the Log Cabin Café for a period of time.

Her favorite and most rewarding job was driving the Sundance Senior Citizens van for many years, which she retired from in 2001. Barbara liked to golf, go to the movies, stargaze and play games, especially cards and dominoes. She was an excellent cook and loved canning and making jelly.

After Warren passed away in 2001, Barbara kept living life to the fullest. She was known to jump in her car and pull her camper wherever she wanted to go, including across the US to Florida (when she was in her 70s!) In her later years, playing cards and marbles with her great friends was one of Barbara's absolute favorite pastimes.

Barbara loved all her grandchildren and enjoyed every minute she spent with them. She loved being their Gram.

Barbara will be missed and remembered by her children and their spouses: Wayne Glick, Oregon, three daughters, Susan (Chuck LeMasters) Glick, Newcastle, Connie (Bradly) Tschetter, Sundance, April (Randy) Gill, Sundance; two sisters, Janet (Frank "Skip") Pratt, Ohio, Nancy (Ronald) Mohler, Georgia; one brother, Allan (Diane) Burns, Wyoming; ten grandchildren: Mandee, Jennifer, Wesley, Travis, Jill, Lacey, Zannie, Amy, Nevada and Elijah; and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; her parents, Allan and Treva Burns; and her brother, John "Ray" Burns.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at the United Methodist Church in Sundance. Interment followed in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Sundance.

A memorial is established for Wyoming Assisted Living in Sundance.
