Old Stoney students needed for parade float

Did you attend school at Old Stoney?

The historic building is celebrating its 100th birthday this year and, to begin the celebrations, the Crook County Museum District is entering a float into the fair parade this weekend.

Rocky Courchaine, Museum Director, is seeking former students of the old school who would like to volunteer to ride on the float during the parade.

No costumes or prior preparations are necessary. If you would like to wave to the crowd and help share your school’s birthday with the community, simply meet in front of Old Stoney prior to line-up.

Line-up begins at 9:30 a.m. on July 29 and the float will be escorted around to the starting location at that time. The parade itself will start its procession down Main Street at 10 a.m.

For more information, contact Courchaine at 283-3666.

A party for Old Stoney’s birthday will be taking place on August 19 from 1 to 4 p.m.
