Carolyn Ann Vineyard

Carolyn Ann Vineyard (85) passed from this life on February 2, 2023 at the Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland, Wyoming. She was born to George Myron and Alice Elizabeth (Laycock) Morey on July 14, 1937 in Wheatland, Wyoming.

While attending high school in Chugwater, Wyoming she met Nelson Vineyard. They married on October 29, 1954 and from 1955 until 1970 welcomed five sons. A young boy at one of the ranches they lived once said, "Every few years the Vineyards just go to town and bring back another boy."

Carolyn was cherished by family and friends alike, the one that you reached out to share exciting news, seek advice or just someone to listen. She was always there for all of us, the person we all tried hard not to disappoint and endeavored to be more like.

Children loved Carolyn and she loved them. During the time she taught preschool at Kid's Kastle in Wheatland, she touched the lives of many of Wheatland's children.

A person could not go downtown Wheatland with her without having someone stop and reminisce about those days. Carolyn always remembered them, very excited to see them and catch up on what was happening in their lives.

Her home was warm and welcoming. Christmas was one of her favorite times of the year. Many a blizzard was driven through to spend Christmas there. We cherish all the wonderful memories of the holidays spent there.

Preceding her in death were her parents, sister Kathryn Raines and brother David Myron Morey who passed away as a young child.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, LN (Nelson) Vineyard; sons, Guy (Becky), Tod (Vicky), Rod (Trish), Mike and David (Gina). Blessed to have called her Gram are ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she was very close to.

A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held this summer. Memorial donations can be sent to Platte County Legacy Home. The family deeply appreciates the employees for the compassion and wonderful care given to her.
