Endangered listing for bat delayed

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) has delayed the effective date of its decision to upgrade the classification status of the northern long-eared bat to “endangered”.

According to U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis, FWS announced it would postpone the original January 30 implementation date after receiving a letter from a group of senators, including Lummis as Senate Western Caucus Chair.
