Kindergarteners tell us how to cook a turkey

Ms. Moeller’s Kindergarten Class

Salena – We don’t eat turkey. We eat chicken and we buy it. We don’t dress the chicken. I don’t know if we stuff it with anything. We cook it in our oven at probably 40 degrees. We cook the chicken for 15 minutes. We eat oil with our chicken. I enjoy the chicken at home with my best friends.

Bergen – My uncle Nick shoots our turkey. We don’t dress or stuff our turkey with anything. I put our turkey in the oven for 15 minutes at a hot temperature to cook it. We like to eat popsicles with our turkey. I enjoy the turkey at my other grandma’s house with my mom, my dad, my cousins, my uncle, my aunt and my grandparents. 

Nathan – On Thanksgiving we get our turkey from a turkey store. We dress the turkey with steak and stuff it with stuffed animals. My mom cooks the turkey in the oven at 6-40 degrees for 20 minutes. We like to have broccoli and asparagus with our turkey dinner. I usually eat it at our house with my mom, dad and my little brother. 

Connor – Sometimes my uncle Jeremy shoots our turkey with a bow and sometimes we buy it from Walmart. We usually dress our turkey with a Christmas tree and stuff it with stuffing. Anyone in my family can cook it. We cook it in the oven at 30 degrees for an hour or something like that. We eat our turkey at my Uncle Jeremy’s house. I don’t eat anything else with my turkey. I share the turkey with anyone who wants it. 

Landree – We get our turkey by shooting it. We dress the turkey with colors and sparkles. I’m not really sure what we stuff it with. We cook our turkey with a frying pan. I don’t know what temperature we cook it at. I think we cook it for 5 hours and 30 minutes. We probably eat salt and pepper with our turkey. We eat it at the kitchen table with family. 

Tru – My dad kills our turkey for Thanksgiving. We don’t dress our turkey and I don’t think we stuff it with anything either. My mom cooks our turkey on the oven at 6 degrees. It takes about 9 minutes to cook a turkey I think. We eat fruit with our turkey. We eat our turkey at nana and papas and at our house too and share it with the whole family. 

Irelee – We get our turkey on Thanksgiving by saying please and thank you. We dress our turkey with meat and stuff it with butter. We cook our turkey with a grill for 7 minutes at 55 degrees. We eat our turkey at the table with dad, mom and Ivan. We usually have carrots for a side. 

Mahlon – We go hunting and get our turkey. We dress it with a snowman. My mom cooks it in the oven at 7 or 8 degrees for about 10 minutes. I like to eat a fork with my turkey. We eat it at home with one of my friends, I think. That’s how we usually do it. 

Kashton – We try to find our turkey. When we find it, we cut it up. We dress our turkey with clothes and stuff it with a blanket. We cook our turkey by putting it in the pan, then we put it on the plate. I eat a fork with my turkey. We enjoy our turkey at a dinner table with my grandma and grandpa. 

Aubre – My dad goes hunting and gets our turkey. My dad and mom like to put butter and a lot of stuff on the turkey but I don’t know what we stuff it with. My dad cooks the turkey by putting it on the grill for 5 minutes. We cook it on a little steamy temperature. We eat potatoes and corn with our turkey. I eat it with my mom and dad at home. 

Ryland – We get our turkey by asking for it from the cookers. We dress it with a rainbow because it has so many colors and you can’t see it without the colors. We stuff our turkey with chicken. We cook it in the oven at a hot temperature for 20 minutes. We eat chicken with our turkey on Thanksgiving. We go to the restaurant to eat our turkey with our family, my teacher and my classmates. 

Braxton – We go hunting to get our turkey. We usually dress it in camouflage and stuff it with soft things like cotton. We cook it at home on the stove at 6 degrees for 3 seconds. I usually eat the turkey at home with my family around our table. We enjoy it with a side of hot sauce.

Lora – We shoot our turkey with a bow. Usually we dress him as a robber and stuff him with pumpkins so he looks nice and fat with meat. To cook him, we put him in a roasting pot, then turn the stove on for 30 seconds and cook it for 50 minutes. When it is done cooking, add some sugar. I like to eat my turkey with salmon on a plate, with a fork, spoon, and napkin. I enjoy my turkey with my mom!

Ms. Johnson’s Kindergarten Class

Chef JD first preheats the oven to 70 degrees. He and his family then set the table, put on the table cloth and set out decorations, all before they cook the turkey. He does not stuff his turkey with anything and allows it to cook for about 20 minutes. JD knows his turkey is done when the really loud timer on the microwave goes off. He and his family enjoy their turkey with some Hawaiian bread and butter, juice, milk and water. JD enjoys his Thanksgiving dinner with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, mom, dad, brother and sister!

Chef Erik preheats his oven to 4 degrees for his turkey. He likes to put some stuffing in his turkey before he cooks it. He thinks it should cook for about 5 minutes and he will hear a “ding” when it is done. Erik likes to serve his turkey with cheese and Reese’s peanut butter cups! Erik enjoys his Thanksgiving dinner with his mom, dad and big sister. His little sister is too little for turkey and will eat her baby food! 

Chef Emma W. preheats her oven to 30 degrees and that puts some “stuff” on her turkey before she cooks it. She doesn’t like to add any stuffing and must cook it for a really long time. She knows it is done when it dings. Emma likes to serve her turkey with corn and ice cream. She enjoys her Thanksgiving dinner with Chris, Sarah, Holly, Trey, Mom, Dad, Tate, Kyler and Sophia. 

Chef Carter likes to preheat his oven to really hot. He then puts some seasoning on his turkey, but no stuffing. He likes to cook his turkey for 7 minutes and knows it is done when the microwave dings. Chef Carter serves his turkey with vegetables. He enjoys his Thanksgiving dinner with his mommy, daddy and Sawyer!

Chef Luna preheats her oven to 6 degrees before she takes the bones out of her turkey. She doesn’t stuff it with anything, but is sure to cook it for 3 minutes. She knows it is fully cooked when the timer goes off. Chef Luna likes to serve her turkey with potatoes and roasted pumpkin seeds. She enjoys her Thanksgiving dinner with her mom, dad and brother!

Chef Hollis likes to preheat his oven to “medium” degrees. He puts some salt on his turkey before he cooks it. He doesn’t like to stuff it with anything, but does make sure to cook it for at least 4 minutes. He knows his turkey is ready to eat when the timer beeps! Hollis serves his turkey with drumsticks and more turkey. Hollis enjoys his delicious Thanksgiving dinner with his grandma and the rest of his family! 

Chef Emma M. likes to preheat her oven to warm before she goes out and shoots her turkey! She has to cook her turkey for a really long time before it is done. She knows it is fully cooked when the bell dings. She will serve the turkey with some real food like spinach and ice cream. She loves to share her Thanksgiving dinner with her papa, grandma and Ava!

Chef Aspen likes to preheat her oven to a tiny bit of hot. She puts her turkey on a plate before she cooks it. She likes to stuff her turkey with some sour cream before putting it in the oven. Aspen usually cooks her turkey for 5 minutes and knows it is done when she hears the ding, ding. Chef Aspen likes to serve her turkey with spaghetti, potato salad and cookies! She enjoys her Thanksgiving dinner with her parents, brothers and sisters!

Chef Ryan preheats his oven to 49 degrees. He likes to take the feathers off of his turkey before he cooks it. He then stuffs it with aluminum foil and cooks it for 45 minutes. Ryan knows his turkey is done cooking when it makes a beep. He serves his delicious turkey with potatoes, more turkey and chocolate. He enjoys his Thanksgiving dinner with his grandma, granddad, mom and the rest of his family!

Chef Evan preheats his oven to a balmy -17 degrees. He likes to poke his turkey (with a spear) before he puts it in the oven. Evan’s turkey is finished cooking after about an hour and a half. He knows it is ready because his oven will beep. Chef Evan will serve his turkey with ham, strawberries and chicken legs. He shares his delicious Thanksgiving meal with his family and grandparents!

Chef Hayes preheats his oven to 8 degrees. He likes to cook his turkey for 16 minutes and he will know it is done when the timer goes ding, ding. He serves his delicious turkey with chicken and chocolate cake with blue and green frosting. He enjoys his Thanksgiving dinner with his mom, dad, brother, sister, grandma and grandpa!

Chef Kameron likes to use a warm oven to cook his turkey. He first buys his turkey before he cooks it. Kameron likes to stuff his turkey with stuffing and knows when it is done with the timer dings. He likes to serve his delicious turkey with bread, cookies and stuffing. Chef Kameron enjoys his Thanksgiving dinner with his family!

Mrs. Barber’s Kindergarten Class

From the kitchen of Chef Kasen. First, Kasen will preheat the oven to 100 degrees. Before he cooks the turkey, he will first need to pepper it, put sauce and French toast on it. Kasen will then stuff the turkey with French toast and pins. He will then cook the turkey for 100 minutes. Kasen will know the turkey is done when the 100 minutes is over. He will serve the turkey with parmesan, pepper and fish. Kasen will share his Thanksgiving meal with Stanton, his brother, mom, dad and Austin.

From the kitchen of Chef Kimber. First, Kimber will preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Before she cooks the turkey, she will first put it in the oven. Kimber will then stuff the turkey with turkeys. She will cook the turkey for 300 hours. Kimber will know the turkey is done when the oven beeps. She will serve the turkey with ice cream, chocolate and Sprite. Kimber will share her Thanksgiving meal with her mom, dad, grandpa and grandma.

From the kitchen of Chef Kellen. First, Kellen will preheat the oven to 1000 degrees. Before he cooks the turkey, he will first need to kill it. Kellen will then stuff the turkey with stuffing and cook it for 5000 minutes. He will know the turkey is done after 5000 minutes. He will serve cheese, salad and Mt. Dew with his turkey. Kellen will share his Thanksgiving meal with his brothers, sisters, mom and dad. 

From the kitchen of Chef Stanton. First, Stanton will preheat the oven to a billion degrees. Before he cooks the turkey, he will first put salt and cookies on it. Stanton will then stuff the turkey with hamburgers and cook it for 32 minutes. He will know the turkey is done after 2 minutes passes. Stanton will serve the turkey with bread, candy and apples. He will share his Thanksgiving meal with his dad, mom, brother and sister. 

From the kitchen of Chef Chase. First, Chase will preheat the oven to 100 degrees. Before he cooks the turkey he will cut it up. Chase will stuff the turkey with pens and cook it for 1000 hours. He will know the turkey is done when the 1000 hours are done. Chase will serve the turkey with popcorn, cheese and chocolate. He will share his Thanksgiving meal with his mom, dad, sister, grandma and papa. 

From the kitchen of Chef Adam. First, Adam will preheat the oven to 90 degrees. Before he cooks the turkey, he will first need to get the ingredients. Adam will stuff the turkey with stuffing and cook it for 40 minutes. He will know the turkey is done when it beeps. Adam will serve the turkey with cheese, pizza and cake. He will share his Thanksgiving meal with his dad, mom, brother and sister.

From the kitchen of Chef Sophie. First, Sophie will preheat the oven to 50,000 degrees. Before she cooks the turkey, he will put salt on it and add peppers. Sophie will stuff the turkey with cookies. She will then cook the turkey for 5 hours and he will know it is done when it’s evening. Sophie will serve the turkey with spaghetti, salad and pizza. She will share his Thanksgiving meal with his family, friends and cousins. 

From the kitchen of Chef William. First, William will preheat the oven to 5 degrees. Before he cooks the turkey, he will first need to thaw the turkey. William will stuff the turkey with turkey and cook it for 5 minutes. He will know it is done when 5 minutes is over. William will serve the turkey with marshmallow salad, pumpkin pie and orange salad. He will share his Thanksgiving meal with his cousins, grandma, grandpa, mom and dad. 

From the kitchen of Chef Violet. First, Violet will preheat the oven to 50% degrees. Before she cooks the turkey, she will first need to heat it up. Violet will stuff the turkey with chicken and cook the turkey for 100 seconds. She will know the turkey is done when 4511 seconds have passed. Violet will serve the turkey with foxes, hens and legs. She will enjoy her Thanksgiving meal with her brother, mom and dad. 

From the kitchen of Chef Reace. First, Reace will preheat the oven to 30 degrees. Before he cooks the turkey, he will first need to cook it. Reace will stuff the turkey with mac and cheese and cook it for 30 minutes. He will know the turkey is done when the timer goes off. Reace will serve the turkey with mac and cheese, crackers and bacon. He will enjoy his Thanksgiving meal with Stanton, Emma, mom, dad, Mrs. Barber and Sophie. 

From the kitchen of Chef Everly. First, Everly will preheat the oven to 5 degrees. Before she cooks the turkey, she will first need to season it. Everly will stuff the turkey with carrots and cook it for 20 minutes. She will know it is done when the timer beeps. Everly will serve the turkey with ice cream, pie and apples. She will enjoy her Thanksgiving meal with Violet, mom, dad, brothers and Mavin. 

From the kitchen of Chef Emma. First, Emma will preheat the oven to 10 degrees. Before she cooks the turkey, she will first need to season it, put it in the oven and set a timer. She will then stuff the turkey with stuffing and cook it for 1 minute. Emma will know the turkey is done when the timer goes off. She will serve the turkey with salad, carrots and apples. Emma will enjoy her Thanksgiving meal with her grandma, grandpa, Nadean, Dennis, mom, dad, sissy and brother. 

From the kitchen of Chef Mavin. First, Mavin will preheat the oven to 2 degrees. Before he cooks the turkey, he will first need to put brown sugar on it. Mavin will then stuff the turkey with sugar. He will cook the turkey for 17 minutes and he will know it is done when the turkey turns blue. Mavin will serve the turkey with popsicles, chocolate pie and bread. He will share his meal with his nana and grandpa.
