Registration open for summer rec

It’s time to think about summer fun – including the range of recreation options that will once again be available this year through the City of Sundance. From soccer to swimming, there’s an outdoor activity for almost any kid.

T-ball will be held for ages four to five from May 31 to June 23 at the high school field. Hour-long sessions begin at 1 p.m.

Kids must be four by May 31 in order to participate. Games will take place at the baseball complex.

Coach pitch t-ball for ages six to seven will be held at the same time in the same place. Minor or major league baseball times and dates have yet to be announced.

Also at the high school field, soccer for kindergarten through third grade will take place on Wednesdays from June 1 to July 6 (except June 29), with hour-long sessions beginning at 1 p.m. Soccer for fourth through seventh grades is scheduled an hour later at the same place.

Basketball at the central office gym will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays between July 7 and 22, divided into three age groups. Hour-long sessions for kindergarten to second grade will begin at 1 p.m.; for third to fifth grade at 2 p.m.; and for sixth to ninth grade at 3 p.m.

Volleyball will be held on Mondays in the central office gym between June 6 and July 11. Again, it will be divided into age groups, with hour-long sessions for kindergarten through second grade at 1 p.m.; third to fifth grade at 2 p.m.; and sixth through ninth grade at 3 p.m.

There will be no volleyball on June 29 due to volleyball camp, which will be held from June 27 to 29.

Registration is also now open for summer swimming lessons at the pool, split into three sessions on June 20 to July 1, July 5 to 15 and July 18 to 29.

The level of your child’s ability will determine the time of their 30-minute class, with level one at 11:15 a.m., level two at 10:30 a.m., level three at 9:45 a.m., level four at 9 a.m., level five at 9:45 a.m. and level six at 9 a.m.
