Upon the retirement of Judge Thomas W. Rumpke, the Judicial Nominating Commission has put forth three names to potentially take on his position of District Court Judge in the Sixth Judicial District.
The commission considered all who expressed interest in the position and submitted three nominees:
Honorable Matthew F.G. Castano, Honorable Paul S. Phillips and Ronald E. Wirthwein, Jr.
These names have been submitted to Governor Mark Gordon for his consideration. The governor will appoint one of the three to serve as the new District Court Judge.
The Judicial Nominating Commission is made up of Chief Justice Kate M. Fox, Chairman, as well as three lawyers selected by the Wyoming State Bar and three non-lawyers appointed by the governor.
The Sixth Judicial District covers Crook, Campbell and Weston Counties.
