Hope

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. – 1 Cor. 13:13

As we know, see and live, when there is no hope, when all is hopeless, nothing fits together. Hopelessness strips life of its proper perspective and creates a void that is insurmountable to ascend.

Things lose significance, including life itself. The world is lived not as it was intended, but as what sin has created and what we often learn to accept. Without hope, faith and love have no chance to be realized.

The hope from heaven is the focus and attitude which moves us into the action of love.

Hope is the hinge or bridge between faith and love.

Hope. The best four-letter word in heaven sent to earth.

Faith is the foundation and content of what we believe.

Apart from Jesus Christ, we live against what’s good for us. On the other hand, when we abide in the faith, hope and love God, the provision is made to prioritize the necessities in living to make and keep things right.

“The iron bolt which so mysteriously fastens the door of hope and holds our spirits in gloomy prison, needs a heavenly hand to push it back.” – Charles Spurgeon

Human beings from nearly the beginning have often chosen to live against God, against each other, and against God’s world. The attitude and focus on self, strips us of our hope and treats others less than what was intended.

“Why am I here” doesn’t have a compelling answer without God.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. – Romans 15:13

Everything that is done in the world is done by hope. – Martin Luther.
