Board Meeting – August 2, 2021

Chairman Terri Johnson called the regular board meeting of the Crook County Fair Board to order at 5:30 pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Board members present: Terri Johnson, Lonny Bossman, Justin Gerstner, Ray Marchant

Board members absent: Amy Pravecek

Employee present: Carolyn Fowler

Guests: Katelyn Bischoff, Bobbi Butler, Richard and Lisa Gantz

Justin moved to approve the agenda, Lonny seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

Katelyn presented her expenses for the horse show prizes and asked about ordering two additional horse buckles. Justin moved to approve the purchase of the two additional buckles, Lonny seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

Ray moved to approve the minutes from the July 6, 2021 meeting, Lonny seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Lonny moved to approved the minutes from the July 12, 2021 special meeting, Ray seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

Lonny moved to pay the bills including the ones that have not been received, Justin seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

Carolyn gave the Secretary report. Lonny moved to transfer $161 from Friends of Fair account to the Beef Futurity account, Justin seconded, all ayes, motion carried. Ray moved to move funds to pay the premium checks, Lonny seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

Carolyn gave the Entertainment Committee report. No complaints were heard. Justin said attendance was about 20-30 people per show for the raptors and the juggler.

Bobbi gave the Livestock Committee report. 141 animals for sale. Unofficial sale total is over $352,000 raised.

Terri gave the Awards Committee report. Poultry and rabbits didn’t have prizes.

Old Business: Terri asked about the FFA Alumni money approved for their concert. The check has not been picked up at this time.

Discussion was held about who approved the beef tie out design.

Discussion was held about panels for the goat show in September.

New Business: Justin moved to set the dates of July 23-31, 2022 for the next fair, Lonny seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

Fair theme will be tabled until the October meeting.

Lonny moved to adjourn at 5:58 pm, Ray seconded, all ayes, motion carried.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 5:30 pm.
