CROOK COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT #1

CALL TO

ORDER A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of Crook County School District #1 was held in Sundance, WY, Monday, May 10, 2021, at the hour of 4:00 PM at central office.

ROLL CALL The meeting opened with the following present: Vice-Chairman Rick Gill; Trustees Marlene Edwards, Dave Jagemann, Ken Rathbun, and Heith Waddell. Trustees absent – Thayne Gray, Brian Marchant, Chase Williams, and Shane Wolf. Administrator present – Mark Broderson, Superintendent.

ADOPTION of

AGENDA Motion was made by Trustee Waddell and seconded by Trustee Jagemann to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.

ARRIVAL Trustee Gray arrived at 4:11 PM

Trustee Wolf arrived at 4:32 PM.

HEALTH

INSURANCE Terry Sterling, Director of the Wyoming School Board Association Insurance Trust (WSBAIT), gave an overview of the trust and services provided to participating school districts. WSBAIT is:

o Partially self-funded, with its reserves owned by participating districts.

o Composed of 21 Wyoming school districts insuring approximately 2800 employees (7500 total individuals) with $44 million worth of claims.

o Believes in local control - its board is composed of a representative from each participating school district.

Mr. Sterling went over the formula WSBAIT uses to determine health insurance premium renewal amounts – including the specific data and percentages used in the formula. Board members asked Mr. Sterling a number of questions. He will do additional research to provide answers to several of the questions. He will then email that information to Pamela Garman, CCSD#1 Business Manager and district WSBAIT representative. There was also a general discussion about health care options and wellness programs.

MENT Motion was made by Trustee Jagemann and seconded by Trustee Waddell to adjourn the meeting at 5:40 PM. Motion carried.
