Sundance resident faces child abuse charges

Sundance resident Chauncey Jenerou faces a child abuse charge after an alleged altercation with a juvenile in mid-December.

On December 18, a Sheriff’s Office Deputy was asked to investigate reports of a juvenile who claimed Jenerou had physically assaulted them. When the deputy and a Sundance Police Officer attended his residence to interview him, Jenerou allegedly denied the allegations and claimed he had been messing around with the alleged victim.

Jenerou has been charged with one felony count of child abuse, carrying a maximum penalty of ten years’ incarceration, a $10,000 fine or both, as well as misdemeanor counts of battery and interference with emergency calls.
