An ongoing project to replace the dam at Cook Lake is reaching its final stages, says District Ranger Mike Gosse. The popular site is still open for day use activities and will be open for camping in the 2021 season.
“Work continues to proceed nicely,” says Gosse of the $1.2 million dam project, which saw the 60-year-old dam replaced due to wear-and-tear and leakage. The new structure will be able to handle a larger volume of water in the event of heavy rain or snow melt.
