Beulah woman sentenced for aggravated assault

Tateum Mae Moss of Beulah has been given a suspended sentence for a charge of aggravated assault and battery related to an alleged fight that took place at her Beulah residence.

On September 8, 2019, at around 1 a.m., two Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a couple fighting at a residence in Beulah. Arriving at the scene, they allegedly found a man standing in the driveway who claimed to have called 911.

The male victim allegedly stated that, following an argument, Moss came to the room where he was sleeping and “started to kick him, scratch him and hit him to get him to leave”.

The male victim allegedly claimed he tried to push her away and the pair ended up on the ground, where she started to grab his neck. According to the affidavit filed by one of the two deputies, he had “visible bloody cuts and scratches” on his face, neck, arms and back.

The male victim allegedly stated that he did eventually leave the house and Moss locked him out. He also claimed Moss had put her hands around his neck.

Moss allegedly admitted to hitting the male victim and claimed they had been hitting each other. She was arrested and transported to the Crook County Detention Center.

Moss pled guilty to a felony charge of aggravated assault and battery. She was sentenced to between five and eight years in a state penal institution, suspended pending successful completion of three years of probation.
