Area handbell event hosted by Sundance Community Handbell Choir

Once again, seasoned and brand new handbell ringers will have an opportunity to join other ringers from around the area in a music sight-reading event called Super Bell Saturday (the day before Super Bowl Sunday) in Sundance on Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Sundance Community Handbell Choir Director Janet Lake indicates that the local choir will be hosting the event, in association with Area 11, Handbell Musicians of America, of which Lake is a board member. There will be ten other events in the five-state area that will happen simultaneously.

Sundance Community Handbell Choir is currently recruiting new ringers, and the easy music that will be played that day is perfect for new ringers! Musical experience is not required; training is provided. Long-term commitments are not required, so the choir plays when enough ringers are available.

The deadline for Super Bell Saturday registration is January 13. People interested in the event, or in finding out more about being a part of the local choir, are encouraged to contact Janet Lake at 283-2215 at their earliest convenience.
