Missoula Children's Theatre returns with The Snow Queen

Missoula Children’s Theatre is back! An audition will be held for the MCT production of The Snow Queen on Monday, November 5 at SHS Auditorium from 4:05 to 6:05 p.m.

Those auditioning should arrive at 4 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some cast members will stay for a two-hour rehearsal immediately following the audition.

Students will need to bring something to eat during the 15-minute break in the event they stay for Monday night rehearsal. Rehearsals are daily Monday-Thursday from 4:05 to 8:20 p.m., Friday at 2 p.m. and Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.

Performances are Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. Students must be available for all rehearsals and both performances. A full rehearsal schedule will be given to cast members after auditions on Monday.

Approximately 50-60 roles are available. Students ages Kindergarten through 12th grade are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation or experience is necessary.

Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week. The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup.

Come discover what it takes to overcome chilling obstacles, keep resilience alive and melt down the Snow Queen’s icy walls. Among the roles to be cast are the Snow Queen, Gerda, Gerda’s Grandma, Gerda’s best friend Kay, Kay’s Grandma, the Gardner Woman, Bae the Reindeer, Yeti, the Little Robber Girl, Mr. and Mrs. Crow and the Prince and Princess. There are also Hobgoblins, Snow Animals, Robbers and Snow Chickens.

The Snow Queen’s hour-long performance will be presented on Friday, November 9 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, November 10 at 11 a.m. in the SHS auditorium. Tickets are available at the door.
