25 Years Ago, August 5, 1999: Cortney Tschetter, daughter of Scott and Debbie Tschetter, was the June reader of the month at the Crook County Library. All kids are welcome to stop in while they are in town for the county fair and sign up to be our next reader of the month.

Dan Straight saw a large rattlesnake at the Sackett Garage corner one night last week, and for a time there was considerable alarm among those who pass that way. Diligent search by several parties failed to locate the snake and it is probable that he has removed from our midst.
It is reported that Fred Mann, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Mann, was the victim of an explosion in the mines at Lead, SD, where he was working and sustained broken legs and other serious injuries and is in the hospital there. It is feared his Injuries will cripple him for life.
