Author to visit libraries

The Crook County Public Library will present award winning author Eugene Gagliano at three events next month. Programs will be presented at 9:30 a.m. on Tues., May 9 at the Moorcroft Branch Library; 1 p.m. on Tues., May 9 at the Hulett Branch Library and 10 a.m. on Wed., May 10 at the Crook County Library in Sundance.

Known by many as the teacher who dances on his desk, Eugene M. Gagliano is a retired elementary teacher with a great sense of humor. He and his wife Carol live near the base of the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming.

Gene's author presentations are entertaining, informative, and inspirational. He has presented at 184 schools, IRA, SCBWI, library conferences, and festivals in Wyoming, Colorado, Missouri, South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Texas and Hawaii.

Gene was the recipient of the IRA's 2004 Wyoming State Celebrate Literacy Award and the 2001 Arch Coal Teacher Achievement Award. He is a graduate of the Institute of Children's Literature, and is on the Wyoming Arts Council Artists Roster. Gene is the current Wyoming State Poet Laureate.
