Picking winners

Jamie Jessen casts her ballot on Tuesday morning for the 2022 General Election. The race that received perhaps the most attention, both locally and statewide, was that of Ogden Driskill, who faced a write-in opponent for the Senate District #1 seat via the "Roger is Right" campaign. The unofficial results saw Driskill looking set to retain his seat (Campbell County results not available at press time). Other contested positions included the mayorship of Sundance, in which race incumbent Paul Brooks was re-elected. Both Callie Hilty and Brad Marchant retained their council seats against challenger Rick Benavidez. Contested board seats included two at-large trustee positions with the Crook County Medical Services District, which were won by incumbent Sandy Neiman and Brent Fowler; three at-large seats on the board for the Crook County School District, for which the successful candidates were incumbent D. Marlene Edwards, Steve Blakeman and Toby Connally; and one Hulett seat on the school board, which was won by Hannah Ista. In-county readers will find an insert detailing the full unofficial results inside.
