Tough week for Lady Bulldogs

The Lady Bulldogs were up against stiff competition as they took on the 3A Newcastle Dogies on Friday and the #1 ranked 2A team, the Big Horn Rams on Saturday.

It was a hard-fought battle Friday night as Sundance went up against Newcastle, but the Lady Bulldogs fell just short as the Dogies swept them three games to none. McKaya Gillespie led the Bulldogs at the net for the night with eight kills, while teammates Zoe Skeens and Aspen Jones picked up six digs each throughout the night.

On Saturday the Lady Bulldogs traveled to Big Horn to face an ever-tough conference rival. Dropping game one 15-25, the Bulldogs pulled together throughout game two.

Sundance stayed close to the Rams within game two but fell just short as Big Horn took the 25-23 victory. The Rams built on their momentum and hit 25 points in game three before the Bulldogs were able to make double digits.

The Lady Bulldogs are looking to turn their luck around as they kick off Homecoming week this week traveling to Hill City on Monday and hosting the Moorcroft Wolves on Friday.

Looking at the week ahead Coach Blaczyk stated, “This week we play Hill City on Monday, which will be a tough contest. We played them during team camp this summer and they had some height and big hitters. On Friday we play Moorcroft. They have been on a solid winning streak against some really big teams but there is something about Homecoming and Moorcroft to really get the adrenaline going and the athletes working for a win.”
