WYDOT seeking comments on construction plan

Wyoming Department of Transportation is looking for comments from the public for its 2023 transportation improvement planning document.

This document is used to project the construction and other projects that will be undertaken over the next few years, beginning with the next fiscal year for the department, which starts on October 1. It includes everything from highway and bridge projects to airport improvement and transit and is published annually, with updates once per month.

According to the draft, next year is expected to see pavement rehabilitation take place on I-90 between Sundance and the South Dakota state line. The next year will see pavement rehabilitation north of Moorcroft on U.S. 14, as well as airport equipment and pavement maintenance at the Hulett Airport.

In 2025, WYDOT has projected two projects: replacement of a bridge over Inyan Kara Creek near Sundance and pavement rehabilitation between Moorcroft and Sundance at the Inyan Kara area on both the eastbound and westbound lanes.

Replacement of a bridge over Donkey Creek on County Road 112 is slated for 2026, while the current STIP has a bridge replacement on WYO 51 set for 2027, along with pavement rehabilitation between Sundance and the South Dakota line on I-90 in both the eastbound and westbound lanes and on U.S. 212 towards Colony.

No projects have yet been scheduled for 2028.

Submit comments via http://www.dot.state.wy.us/ContactWYDOT/?id=128 or by mail to 5300 Bishop Blvd., Cheyenne, WY 82009. The deadline for receiving draft STIP comments is September 2.

WYDOT emphasizes that the STIP project listing is tentative and is revised in accordance with changes in funding levels, highway conditions and other issues that arise during the advance project design phase.
