Loving

He who does not love does not know God, for God is love (1 John 4:8).

It should be immediately noticed from the above verse who God is. He is love.

On its own, humanity cannot sufficiently classify the totality of HIS love. This only comes through intimately knowing and experiencing God and is a crucial concept in the cosmic puzzle as well as a necessity for the soul. Love is not something the world gets to define on its own and place conditions upon, for in that there is no rest or freedom.

This results in an unknowable, and unlovable God. This was never the intention of the Creator yet has always been the way of the world.

The starting point in defining love and developing a relationship with God is His Word.

It reveals His will, character and love that is conveying His Son Jesus Christ

(1 Cor. 1:30). He is known when allowing the definition of living through wisdom, knowledge and understanding put together by experiencing. This is where shadows are seen with substance and black and white as one, yet distinctly separate. God’s love allows us to perceive correctly and deeply.

God’s love opens up the world to be seen as He made it. Colors become clearer, smells tantalizing and relationships meaningful. All humans become objects of dignity, not hate and people see the good without mastering the bad. The world is persistently perceived as God intended in its goodness, not as it is. Living becomes purposeful, more things easily understood.

For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, “Fear not, I will help you” – Isaiah 41:13

The goal of all this life is not to understand the world but help in its restoration.

This is only accomplished through loving others. The realizing that God is the rightful King of our souls will provide peace and joy, while establishing a working relationship that is walked out and unfolding. Born of true love as effective relationships are meant to be.

Loving has feet and a body and properly done ignites the soul. The definition is from God, the placing is in our hearts and the taking into the world is our responsibility.

It has a right to be correctly defined and placed. There is a transference from God’s knowledge found in His word to the world. This must be done from love and nothing else or it makes little to no sense to any. Not only a failure to launch, but to live.

Love from God does not necessarily make our questions any easier, but the answers are more understandable. That makes life more meaningful and purposeful. Intimately experiencing His consistence companionship places love into its correct context as it is held in the proper hands of God.

Only God’s love nullifies and eventually overcomes the joyless prospects of life.

Questions:

1. How do you define love?

2. How do you see it in your own life? In the world?

3. How would it be better if left for God to define?

4. Why is it critical that God is love?

“It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done.” – Vincent Van Gogh
