Accident claims young man's life

A traffic accident claimed the life of a young Moorcroft resident last week. The teenager was traveling near Pine Haven when his vehicle left the road and rolled over.

According to Wyoming Highway Patrol’s accident report, the incident took place just south of the intersection with Wyoming Highway 113 on Liberty Lane, a gravel county road.

The vehicle left the roadway to the left for a short distance before re-entering the roadway. The 17-year-old driver is believed to have overcorrected, which caused the vehicle to rotate counterclockwise and leave the roadway to the left in a slide.

The vehicle then tripped and performed a three-quarter roll, coming to rest on the driver’s side. According to reports, the driver was not wearing his seatbelt and was fully ejected from the vehicle.

The driver succumbed to injuries that were sustained in the crash.
