SHS musical retelling of the Cinderella story gets new dates

After being forced to postpone the original show dates in early April, the students of Sundance High School are pleased to announce that musical comedy Stepsisters has been rescheduled. Head to the high school auditorium to find out just how wrong the Brothers Grimm got their story.

Stepsisters is a retelling of the famous Cinderella fairytale from the perspective of Drew (Telsie Comer) and Beth (Briska Johnson), who start the story having been thrown in the dungeon for conspiring against the throne. But are they really wicked and evil?

What if they were just trying to help the tongue-tied prince talk to their sister? What if their mother has even more nefarious plans than just to torture Cinderella with endless housework?

Heading the cast of Stepsisters include Gracie Davis as the herald, Ella Bifulco as Cinderella and Lindsey Fosheim as the wicked stepmother. Cole Robinson will portray the “tad bit awkward” prince, with Dawson Flahaven and Allie Crawford as his royal parents and Riley Banker as “all around bad guy” the chancellor.

The next performance is scheduled for May 5 at 7 p.m.

Additional upcoming events from the SHS music department include auditions for the variety show on May 6 (contact [email protected]); a large and small group band and choir contest on the afternoon of May 9; the spring concert and senior music recognition on May 10 at 7 p.m.; and the variety show itself at 7 p.m. on May 17.
