CCSS Drivers attend Community Transportation Expo

Amanda Garoutte and Janet Grubb just returned from Richmond Virginia from the Community Transportation Expo. The Community Transportation Expo is a meeting place for people who want to expand their horizons on issues of mobility, transportation and how to build strong communities.

Both Garoutte and Grubb participated in week-long intensive training sessions and vendor expo. They focused on courses to help meet the needs of seniors using public transportation.

Their trip was funded by a scholarship from the Federal Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP) through the Wyoming Public Transit Association, Inc. (WYTRANS).

Earlier this year Garoutte was awarded Wyoming Driver of the Year. Both ladies are drivers for Crook County Senior Services, Inc.

Crook County Senior Services is a non-profit organization. The organization strives to increase the self-sufficiency, safety, health and wellness of Crook County Seniors and people with disabilities in the least restrictive environment.

They want to enrich and stabilize the lives of our seniors and enable them to remain in their homes for as long as possible. They strive to remove barriers to independent living and to add to a continuum of care for vulnerable individuals.
