50 Years Ago, Nov. 11, 1971 - Sundance High School Football coach Neil Hoffine is flanked by Randy Proctor, left, and Tom Ferrell, right, both of whom were selected on the Powder River northeast district all-conference team. Proctor was named to a guard position on the offensive squad, while Ferrell received defensive team honors at an end position. Sundance players receiving honorable mention were Jim Viergets, second from left and Robin Hibbard.

100 Years Ago

Nov. 10, 1921

Frank Haselton is reported to be recovering slowly from the effects of a fall from his horse last week. The accident occurred at his ranch when he was pulling a car to start it. The cinch broke, throwing Mr. Haselton with much force.

One of the most distressing tragedies in the history of Campbell County occurred last week when Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Neal, homesteaders living 65 miles south of Gillette died from the effects of eating canned duck which had generated some kind of poison.
