McInerney recognized for sportsmanship

Cana McInerney was awarded the Good Sportsmanship Award from the Wyoming High School Activities Association (WHSAA) for the sportsmanship she displayed during the volleyball tournament against Lingle-Ft. Laramie on August 27.

The award was judged and recommended by the officiating crew of Amy Swisher and Chrisanna Lund and approved by Ron Laird, CMAA, Commissioner of the WHSAA.

The officiating crew described McInerney as a "very talented volleyball player with great hands as a setter and just an all-around athlete. Although she is a true competitor, Cana always has a smile on her face and it rubs off on her teammates."

"She never argued a call or rolled her eyes, and was even joking with the other team across the net. She was a joy to officiate and is a wonderful leader and athlete."
