CCNRD announces return of tree program

The Crook County Natural Resource District (CCNRD) is excited to announce the hopeful return of our Tree Program. With the assistance of local volunteers, we will aim to provide Crook County with Conservation-Grade seedlings and potted trees.

Orders will also be taken for weed barrier and other materials needed to protect your trees as they become established.

This program is offered by the CCNRD to provide everyone with trees at a nominal cost, thereby promoting resource conservation and the resiliency of landowner’s properties through the many benefits provided by trees. Based on your conservation related needs, trees can be planted for:

-Creating windbreaks

-Livestock protection

-Erosion control/dust control/soil stabilization

-Wildlife habitat improvement

-Road protection via living snow fences

Before we can move forward with the tree program, we want to hear from you, the residents of Crook County. We want to know if you are interested in ordering trees or tree-related items through the Tree Program.

We also welcome community support by way of volunteering with the CCNRD as the Tree Program grows. This could entail anything from helping sort tree orders to helping educate others about the benefits of planting trees.

If you are interested in the Tree Program, please contact us at (307)-283-2870 ext. 4 or via email at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you.
