The Sundance Lady Bulldogs were up against some stiffer competition as they participated in the Gillette tournament over the weekend. Facing off against Douglas, Campbell County, and Newcastle, the Lady Bulldogs put in their best effort but came up a little short.
“Playing against the bigger schools was a great experience. We don’t often play teams where people can hit from any position on the net so we were able to give our defense a true test.” stated Coach Blaczyk.
The Bulldog frontline put up a great effort as Ty Holloman had 16 blocks and 29 kills for the weekend followed by teammates Bailey Hofland and Zoe Skeens who added 17 and 16 kills respectively.
“Our hitters had to get creative when attacking to find holes and get around the block,” commented Coach Blasczyk.
The back row put in maximum effort as well with three Bulldogs contributing double digit dig efforts. Skees led the way with 31 digs for the weekend followed closely by Bariska Johnson with 29 and Ty Holloman who contributed 27.
The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action against 2A schools this week as they participate in the Big Horn Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
