50 Years Ago, Aug. 26, 1971: Bruce Connally of Sundance won top honors in the Arabian Gelding class at the Wyoming State Fair in Douglas earlier this week. He is shown with "Rimfire" which is a repeat winner. Bruce, 17, has been a 4-H member for nine years. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Connally.

While attempting to hasten a fire in the stove with coal oil, Mrs. Charles Barrett, Thronton, Wyo, was seriously injured as a result of the explosion of the can containing the oil. Mrs. Barrett escaped being burned to death by jumping into a barrel of water.
Dismantling the Sundance flour mill has been going on for a few days past, and numerous parts of the machinery will be hauled to Newcastle and Beulah. Since all three mills passed into the same ownership there has never been a question of operating the Sundance plant, as expenses have proved higher here than...
