What a 30th-Anniversary-of-Going-Steady celebration! Thank you to everyone who came, sent cards, gifts and made this even such a happy, joyful time!

A special thank you to daughter Tally Hughes, who sure knows how to plan and carry out a party; it was a total, unforgettable success. To all our family members who came to this get together, it meant so much to us.

All four generations of Tom’s family were there, and many of Barb’s attended – so special. Thank you to all our family for what you did, all the behind-the-scene helpers and everyone who attended.

I am writing this letter to recognize and thank the exceptional efforts of our local volunteer fire fighters. The devastation a fire can have on our operations and ultimately our livelihoods can prove to be almost catastrophic.

The timely response and selfless effort that these men and women serve the community with is nothing short of remarkable. When you see folks driving their own vehicles and managing their own equipment outside of the resources made available by the County and being available at a moment’s notice to respond and help out, I think is a big deal.

We are so fortunate to live in this community with these folks and call them friends and neighbors and I would encourage everyone to take a little time and effort to show their appreciation in meaningful way.

So, a “Thank You,” to each one of the volunteer fire fighters, especially those that respond on their own accord and with their own vehicles is certainly appropriate. Thank you for the dedication and effort you put forth in fighting the fires. It doesn’t go without notice!
