WYDOT is warning residents of a possible phishing scam that involves driver’s licenses and has issued a statement to inform Wyomingites that no message sent by the department will ever ask for your personal information.
The scam appears to involve text messages that give a “final notice” about a “license waiver validation.” The recipient of the message is directed to visit a third-party website in order to “avert a suspension.”
This website, according to the department, has been designed to look like a WYDOT website, so may appear to be a legitimate site.
