Aladdin fire department erects pole buildings

For many years, the Aladdin Fire Department (official name Crook County Fire Zone 12) has been holding various fundraisers to pay for repairs, fire food and improvements. Finally, after all this time, and with a generous donation from Dick and Terry Pfister, owners of the 76 Ranch, this year we finally had enough money to purchase five pole buildings to house some of our fire trucks.

Former Zone Warden George Whalen worked with Adam Rydquist at 4 Aces Fabrication on the design, and current Zone Warden Steve Geis worked with Brian Marchant at Croell’s Inc. and received donations of gravel as a base for all of the buildings. Jim Geis hauled the gravel at a reduced cost.

The buildings are now placed throughout our zone boundaries.

By keeping the fire units out of the elements, the life of the hoses, tires, paint job and windshields will be much longer. While this is just cold storage, it is a huge improvement and a goal we finally achieved. The department appreciates all who donated and worked with us.

Saturday July 3, Aladdin VFD will be at the Aladdin Store accepting donations of cash and snacks to refill our pantry. We are also recruiting neighbors to help us, by joining the department, helping with food prep, or whatever else. We invite you to stop by and visit us Saturday morning.
