Arthur H. Wood, Sr.

Arthur H. “Art” Wood, St., born January 20, 1936, passed away from Alzheimer’s on May 21, 2021. Art was a native of Wyoming and is now a permanent resident of a better place in Heaven. He resided in Edgerton for over 40 years.

Through the years he held many different jobs including Army veteran, rancher, sheepherder in the Black Hills, farmer, woodworker, truck driver and oilfield hand. His hobbies included woodworking, carpentry and hunting with family.

He also was an active member of his community. He enjoyed volunteering as both a Cub and Boy Scout leader, fireman, foster parent and in multiple roles at church.

Art will be dearly missed by those he left behind, including wife, Judy; children, Art Jr. (Chrissy), Aaron (Paula) and Tammy (Ryan); his brothers, Vernon, Bob (Kay) and Ben (Cindy); his sisters, Vera (Bill), Ali (Chuck); sister-in-law, Dorothy; five grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

Art was preceded in passing by his father, Kicker; mother, Gladys; brothers, Ray, Warren, Joe; and sisters, Edith and Nellie.

Graveside services have yet to be decided. There will be a tree planted in his honor at a national park as a reminder of happy memories of a quiet man of God.
