County in need of volunteer board members

Several boards that serve Crook County are in need of volunteers to fill seats as the terms of current members come to an end. The county commissioners strongly encourage members of the community to consider offering their service.

If you would like to offer your support and expertise to the library, child support, local promotion or land use and planning, applications can be obtained from the County Clerk’s Office and must be submitted by May 28. Positions will be appointed on June 1 at 2 p.m., during the commission’s regular monthly meeting.

The available positions include two three-year terms on the Crook County Library Board, one three-year term on the 6th Judicial District Child Support Board and one three-year term on the Crook County Promotion Board.

Two three-year terms are also available for the Crook County Land Use Planning and Zoning Commission. If you are interested in one of these seats, please come to the June 1 meeting before appointments are made to visit with the commissioners before they make their choice.

Applications are always welcomed for positions on county boards, whether or not there is currently an open seat. If a board member moves away or becomes unable to serve, these applications are used to seek a replacement.
